Frequently Asked Questions

If you are new to our hands-on therapy, we understand that you might have some questions:

Remedial therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissue of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. This helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with every day and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

We are dedicated to help you find relief from muscular tension and pain, to increase your range of motion, improve your posture and reduce mental stress.

This will also promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Freeing you from chronic pain is our goal and we are commited to getting you the results you need.

Our treatment approach is all about working with the nervous system instead of against your body. We believe that it does not have to hurt to help. After a Remedial treatment there may be slight pain in stretching or having tight or tensed muscle worked on, but relaxation is really the key.

Prior to your session we will discuss your reason for seeking a Remedial treatment, your areas of tension and discuss how long you have been affected. We will ask you questions regarding your current condition and your health history, a physical assessment will be conducted in order to provide an effective treatment plan, which seeks to treat the original biomechanical dysfunction, as well as the symptoms.

The health history form is important as we need to know if you have any medical conditions, contraindications or if you are taking any medications. We will then leave the room so you can undress into your underwear and get on the massage table, under the provided sheets and blanket.

Please note: Remedial treatment is subject to rebates from your health insurance. Each fund offers different level of coverage, to find out how much you can claim per year it is advised to contact them directly.

HICAPS facility is available at the clinic so you can claim your rebate on the spot. If your health insurance is not listed on the HICAPS terminal we can provide you with a written receipt that will allow you to claim your rebate at your convenience directly with your health insurance provider.

The simplest definition of a contraindication is a specific circumstance when the use of certain treatments could be harmful. If you have a contraindication, we can decide whether the service should be altered or refused outright until the contraindicated condition goes away or is addressed by a medical professional.

We use a hands-on apprach using oil or myofascial balm so undressing to your underwear is best.

Most people report feeling really relaxed and often experience significant relief from aches, pain and stress after our session. However some people, especially those who require therapeutic work, experience mild muscle soreness, which may last a day or two.

Once the soreness is gone, they often notice heightened energy levels. You might feel a bit dehydrated after, so we recommend to drink plenty of water following your treatment.

The therapeutic effects of our treatments are cumulatives, your body will respond quicker with each session. The goal is to have long lasting results, so a course of treatments might be required in the beginning.
